Alicante is one of the most beautiful cities on the Costa Blanca coastline and an ideal destination for a day trip from Torrevieja. The city offers a beautiful seaside atmosphere, historical monuments, palm-lined promenades, excellent restaurants, and stunning sea views.

The dominant feature of the city is Santa Bárbara Castle, which rises above Alicante on Mount Benacantil. The castle offers a magnificent panoramic view of the port, beach, historic centre, and the entire coastline. You can reach the castle on foot, by car, or by lift from the side near Postiguet beach.

After visiting the castle, it's worth a walk through the historic centre, along the narrow streets of the quarter Santa Cruz Quarter, where you'll find colourful houses, flowers, stairs, and a typical Spanish atmosphere. A pleasant stop is also the well-known promenade Explanada de España, lined with palm trees and typical wavy mosaic paving.

Alicante is also suitable for relaxing by the sea. There is a sandy beach directly in the city. Postiguet Beach, which is only a few steps from the centre. You can end your trip by sitting on the harbour, having dinner in one of the restaurants or taking a walk along the sea.
