Surroundings and excursions
Benidorm
Benidorm is a dynamic seaside town on the southeastern coast of Spain, in the province of Alicante. From a small fishing village, it has transformed over a few decades into a cosmopolitan resort with a typical skyline of skyscrapers. It is often referred to as the „European New York“ or the „Manhattan of the Mediterranean.“.
Torrevieja
Torrevieja is a seaside town in the province of Alicante, approximately 50 km south of the city of Alicante. The surrounding area is bordered by two famous salt lagoons – Laguna Salada de Torrevieja (the pink lake) and Laguna de La Mata. These areas are a protected natural park and an important habitat for birdlife. The pink coloration of the lake is caused by microorganisms and a high salt content.
Mil Palmeras
Mil Palmeras is a small seaside resort near Torre de la Horadada, belonging to the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada. The name means „Thousand Palms“ – and that's exactly what you'll find here. Palm-lined avenues, a wide promenade, and beautiful natural beaches create an ideal setting for a peaceful holiday. The area is known for its family atmosphere and modern development of apartments and villas.
Altea
Altea is a picturesque seaside town on the Costa Blanca coast in the province of Alicante. It is known for its historic centre with narrow streets, white houses, and the iconic Nuestra Señora del Consuelo church with its blue and white dome, which is a symbol of the town.
Altea offers a peaceful and authentic atmosphere with plenty of galleries, studios, and cosy cafés. The coastline is lined with natural pebble beaches and a promenade with restaurants where you can enjoy local specialities, especially fresh fish and seafood. Unlike busier resorts, Altea retains a tranquil, almost artistic character.
Cartagena
Cartagena is a historic city and an important port in the southeast of Spain in the region of Murcia. It has over 2,000 years of history and is among the country's most significant cultural and archaeological centres. It was founded by the Carthaginians around 227 BC and was later conquered by the Romans.
Dominating the city is the Roman Theatre, one of the best-preserved in Spain. Cartagena offers a multitude of museums, historic buildings and fortresses, for example the Castillo de la Concepción with beautiful views over the city and the harbour. Every year the Carthagineses y Romanos festivities are held here, attracting thousands of visitors.
La Zenia
